April began her career in banking at Ohio Valley National Bank (now Field and Main Bank). She left the bank in 1999 when her husband, Rob, decided to open his own accounting firm.
When joining Rob in the firm, April concentrated on the payroll tax side of business. She started preparing payroll and processing payroll tax returns for a few clients. This side of their business has grown over the years, so Mitchell & Associates, PLLC now has another full-time payroll specialist and processes payroll and quarterly payroll tax returns for 140 clients.
Today, April takes care of the firm’s business, processing the firm’s payroll, accounts payables and account receivables. She also serves as back-up/fill-in for the firm’s payroll department.
April is a native of Union County, graduating from Union County High School and Henderson Community College and attending Murray State University. She is the mother of five children: Zach, Emily, Davis, Ellie and Sam. She and Rob like to travel. They hope to visit all 63 National Parks.
